MANDATORY VOTING

  • Posted by: alanramlion69

It should be the LAW OF THE LAND that every adult citizen MUST VOTE in Federal Elections. The zealots turn out the vote and we end up with extreamists in office dictating public policy. Those citizens with the least who have such a small voice whose needs are so great will benefit so much. This is also a tremendous way of bringing the country together, so many are outside of the mainstream and feel hopelessly left out, and then act accordingly by failing to exercise their responsibility. Fine (and enforce) $365.- for each missed Federal Election. Earmark 90% of the fines to our election campaign funding (10% to the enforcement agencies) and we really can fund our own elections, and get special interests big bucks influence watered down at the same time. This works elsewhere in the world, who knows, if people knew they had to go vote, maybe they would even pay attention to the issues. What do you think?
