Miranda July For Every Season

  • Posted by: Alexandra Marvar
  • on July 31, 2008 at 1:25 am

Everything Miranda July touches turns to gold. Poignant, sincere, quirky, strange, lovely gold. Like her short stories in No One Belongs Here More Than You, her film Me and You and Everyone We Know, and her compelling little audio narratives. The latest fixation for July is her collaboration on an ongoing project called Learning to Love You More, which has inspired an international smattering of incredibly cool people to complete “assignments,” like recreating an object from someone’s past, interviewing a person who has been in a war, recording the sound that is keeping you awake.

With responses from Doha to Rio to Iowa City, people are coming together and making things.
