Mister Trash Can

  • Video by: Morgan Currie , Chad Colby, Garrett Morin, MacKenzie Fegan, Rus Garofalo, Lindsay Utz | Music by: Audio Dregs Recordings

While carbon emissions may be the current cause célèbre of the environmental movement, let’s not forget the more tangible waste products we are unleashing upon the earth. Annually, households and businesses throw out 251 million tons of trash. And while, not shockingly, the major offenders are industries such as mining, everyday American consumers are responsible for five pounds of trash a day. We’re resolving to watch our wastelines in 2009.

These are great, but offer no solutions, just awareness.  I know there is not a simple solution, but offering some suggestions one can do would be helpful.  I love them anyway.

What I want to know is, what are we going to do when China and India wise up and don’t let us dump there anymore? We really need to resolve the issue BEFORE that happens.
