Yesterday I purchased a new cell phone. I can't say I'm not excited. It's been 2 years since I had a new one and watching everyone else with their cool new toys (mostly on tv, because real people are in the same boat as me), had really begun to work its magic. The phone I really wanted was a little out of my price range, so I ended up getting a Sony Erickson flip phone with all the features -- it plays MP3s, it has a calendar and a place to keep notes, and it makes really cool noises whenever you flip it open. We'll see if I still like it in 30 days.

But after the rush of getting the new toy was over, I thought to myself -- now how can I offset this? Of course, make sure I recycle my old phone...but that's not really enough...and then it hit me: I need to make a really big donation.

Since I was out of cash, I decided to clean out my closet. I'd recently lost a lot of weight and now I'm 2 sizes smaller. That's a lot of clothes someone could use! When I was done, I had 7 bags of just dress clothes (stuff you wear to work in an office) PLUS 7 business suits.

I was appalled at how much I had consumed...but I found a great women's shelter where they are always in need of business clothes for their clients who are trying to go on job interviews and re-establish themselves. I'm dropping the cache off today.

I can already feel the energy balancing itself out...
