The magical HPV vaccine that will help prevent most cases of cervical cancer has been
approved by an FDA advisory panel. This shouldn't get anyone too excited, because an FDA advisory panel also
approved over-the-counter morning-after pills, and you still
can't get those at the corner store (question #5 on this page is pretty amusing). The best part about this story is the attempt to balance the negative reviews of "social conservatives" with the fears of "women's health advocates" that the vaccine will make women think they can skip pap smears. We're sure the concerns of "women's health advocates" are doing a lot to influence FDA decisions.
