Orbitz Explores Its Sexuality

Check out this recent ad from Orbitz and keep your eyes peeled for subversive threats to society.

Did you catch that? See the guy in the blue polo? That symbol on his shirt is the logo for the Human Rights Campaign, a gay and lesbian advocacy group. And in the background? That’s a rainbow flag towel on the golf bag.

This isn’t the first Orbitz ad to acknowledge the existence of homosexuality. A more obviously gay Orbitz spot ran in 2003 during episodes of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. This one has a wider run though, and it’s more a symbol of support than an ad targeted at gay guys. Nice work, folks. And if you’re offended by the ad, well, you don’t have to get a check back when the price of your hotel room falls.

Thanks, Atley.

Thanks, Atley. I hadn’t realized that a gay guy with a rainbow towel on his golf bag was a SUBVERSIVE THREAT TO SOCIETY! We must remember to use tiny rainbow colored towels when we overthrow the government next week!!
