This came as a horrible shock to us - when you leave things plugged in, they keep draining power, even when the devices are turned off. It's like a electronics zombie movie. World Changing has the skinny on these power suckers: how you can locate and destroy them. Because, if saving the environment isn't enough, imagine how much your electricity bill will go down when you stop your DVD player from sucking up 75% of its operating power the entire time it's plugged in. Did you imagine that it would only save you a few cents? Probably true. But these things add up.
