Project: Help Us Create a Crowdsourced Picture Show About Your Favorite Building in Your Neighborhood

Calling all photographers—amateur or professional.

Most of us live in cities, and cities are full of buildings. They provide shelter; places to work, eat, and drink; and the visual backdrop for our lives. In this crowdsourced Picture Show, we are interested in seeing your favorite building in your neighborhood. Is it the crumbling dive bar? Or the house with the cactus garden and hummingbird feeder? Or the museum with the fancy glass-and-steel facade?

Take a photo of your favorite building, and send it to us. We'll select 10 to 20 images to create a collaborative Picture Show, made by the GOOD community. Once the Picture Show is published, you'll be able to vote on your favorite images. The winning submission will be printed in our next issue, and the photographer will get a GOOD T-shirt and a free subscription (or gift subscription).

the THEME
Built structures are a big part of what makes our neighborhoods unique. We want to recognize the ones that make your area different or simply encapsulate the local character.

the OBJECTIVE
Take a picture of your favorite building from your neighborhood. The image can capture the whole structure or a specific aspect. If you're photographing someone's house, try not to be creepy. Include a short explanation (up to 40 words) of the significance of the image for you.

the REQUIREMENTS
Send an e-mail to projects[at]goodinc[dot]com with your photo and short explanation. It can be in any image format, but it should be high enough resolution that it can be printed at 300 dpi. We’ll take submissions now through September 24. We'll publish a Picture Show with a selection of the submissions on September 29.

Once we receive the images, we will turn to you, the GOOD community, to choose the winning submission. The winning entry will be announced on October 7, featured on our homepage, and printed in the next issue of GOOD. We’ll also send a GOOD T-shirt and a free subscription (or gift subscription) to the winner.
