First it was making meat meatier, but now scientists have really gone off the flavor deep end. They've figured out how to genetically alter food to synthesize the enzymes in fruit, so they can make anything taste like, say, kiwi. We imagine people will be up in arms about this, but if everything we eat tastes like strawberries, that will be a great day.
