As part of my MFA thesis project at the School of Visual Arts I am creating spoonful, a magazine that inspires New Yorkers to cook at home with local food.
Each issue of spoonful focuses on one seasonal ingredient and is filled with tips, recipes, stories and other curiosities all from the local food community. The foods we focus on are what we call “odd edibles”, those seasonal foods that most of us see at the market and aren’t quite sure what to do with or what they are even called. The first issue is all about mushrooms — it will be available in May.
