The Department of Energy gave out the first part of it's advanced technology loan fund for automakers. Who got how much?
Ford: $5.9 billion (for improving the fuel efficency of Ford cars and trucks, including the Focus, Escape, Mustang, Taurus and F-150 pickup).
Nissan: $1.6 billion (for retrofitting an auto plant to build an electric sedan)
Tesla Motors: $465 million (for a plant in southern California to manufacture the Model S sedan)
