New Scientist has a nice rundown of the 10 Scientific Objects that Changed the World. The list comes from Science Museum, which is polling readers to decide the most significant among them. The choices: the steam engine, the electric telegraph, the Model T Ford, the V2 Rocket Engine, the DNA double helix, Stephenson's rocket, the X-ray Machine, Penicillin, the Pilot ACE Computer, and the Apollo 10 capsule.

I think my vote goes to the double helix, but all of these objects are clearly significant. What do you think? Are there any glaring omissions?
