The Steady State Economy project is a friendly info-graphic representation of eco-economist Herman Daly’s work on a sustainable economic system. The project is based on the article Life in a Land without Growth published in the News Scientist Magazine (Issue 2678). Sustaining society over the long term requires existing within the carrying capacity of the ecosystem. Under current conditions, this requirement is practically impossible - a more integrated economic model is urgently needed.

The poster represents a future scenario. In 2020 hopefully we will be a decade into a huge experiment in which we will be trying to convert our planet into a Steady State economy, we will have all become a little bit happier, and our grandchildren will have a chance of a better life too.
