The Year’s Stupidest Questions

  • Posted by: Morgan Clendaniel

We hate to be all Slate-centric, but some of these stories are simply too good to resist. You may know Slate’s regular column the Explainer (one of the best things on the internet), in which they endeavor to explain confusing things that are part of the zeitgeist. Well, they get a lot of questions they don’t answer, and in the spirit of yesterday’s “people saying stupid things,” we feel obliged to bring you a new list of stupid questions. Our favorite: “Why is the No. 8 always the same combination (tamale, enchilada, rice, beans) in any Mexican restaurant I visit? This includes primarily the southeast United States but not obvious franchises.” You can even vote on your favorite one, and they will do their best to explain it.
