Ashton Kutcher's less-than-memorable "Butterfly Effect" examines (with time travel, natch) the common chaos theory example that if a butterfly flaps its wings in the Amazon, a convoluted chain of events causes a rainstorm in, say, Paris. The Guardian takes a look at the butterfly effect in reverse: if a kid in England buys some Chicken McNuggets, how many acres of Amazon land does agri-business giant Cargill destroy?
