Thirty-seven Picture Shows from around the World

  • Posted by: GOOD

pictureshowmapEarlier this year, we started running new collections of photos from prominent and up-and-coming photographers who are exploring the world in interesting ways. We call them Picture Shows, and each Wednesday we feature a new artist’s work. So far we’ve run 37 of these Picture Shows, which have offered visual explorations on a range of topics: the closing of a GM plant in Ohio, the contents of strangers’ refrigerators, and the way of life in a roadside camp for Nashville’s homeless are but a few. Our most recent one explores life inside the Bellavista prison in Medellín, Colombia, from the perspective of the inmates.

If you like them, then remember to come back each Wednesday, or simply subscribe to the RSS feed. The above map shows the ground we’ve covered thus far, and we’re eager to find compelling visual series in new territory—like maybe Russia or Mauritania or Bouvet Island or Brunei.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on this growing collection—whether you’re a photographer with a project to submit (which you can do at photo [at] goodinc [dot] com), someone who knows of a collection you’d like to nominate, or just an interested community member with an opinion to share.

Thanks.

I LOVE your picture show!! Actually, that’s how I discovered GOOD – one of your picture collections, “You Are What You Eat” by Mark Menjivar, was featured on msn.com and captured my attention (I’m very into food so it’s not surprising at all). I followed the link and was hooked on GOOD ever since, and not just for its picture content. I am from Russia (even though not a professional photographer), so who knows, maybe some day I’ll be able to suggest a picture collection of my own ;-)
