The insight for the project is that climate change seems complex, distant and global. We wanted to show how it actually is personal local and immediate to try and cut through the politics of COP15 and appeal to the delegates that are attending on a more human level.
We started with the question.... what's worth saving in #thisplace? And collected personal/local answers from around the world using twitter and our website www.thisplace09.com. We then worked with a team of artists to bring the best tweets to life in an creative/ emotive way.
Right now we are publishing these in a book that we are taking to Copenhagen to give to delegates. The idea is that when we give them the book all of the personal hopes and aspirations of people in it are being placed in their hands.
Some friends are helping us i.e. a green taxi company have agreed to drive us there with all the books. We are also making a documentary of sorts about the trip, the tweets, the artists and the conference.
The whole project seemed easier on paper but am confident we will pull it off. Our biggest challenge now is distribution so if anyone has ideas or contacts (particularly presidents and world leaders :) then we'd love to hear from you,
Hope you like the project,
Best,
David
