Thoughts on Life and Where We're Headed

I've spent the past several years thinking about life, for good or bad, analyzing people, places, cultural differences, you name it. I've come to the conclusion that we as humans need to evolve if we are to survive, and no I'm not speaking in Darwin's sense of the term.

I've found that humanity shares, for the most part, an insane jealousy of each other. If I have a girlfriend then my male friends will want to be with my girlfriend, even if they don't really like her. If I receive some form of income that people I know do not, then they want to take that income away from me.

It's an inherent quality in most humans that needs to be overcome and re-purposed. There is nothing wrong with being competitive, but to want to take something or someone away from another person just because you don't have it or them is just barbaric, and we need, collectively, to get past that.

Personally, I am optimistic. I think that we as a species can change. I think we have what it takes to survive, and I think it's just a matter of time before the jealousy factor becomes lessened to the point where it doesn't affect the average person.

Take the United States for example, in some areas of the U.S. there is very little jealousy and the overwhelming majority of the local population in a given area thrives and prospers. I think it's infectious and I think it needs to become more commonplace across the U.S.

Remember to think positive thoughts. I know it can be hard with the current situation we're in, but it's important to stay frosty and optimistic. You never know what tomorrow may bring.
