It's gotten to the point where we can't not comment on this. Ted Stevens (R-AK) is the head of the Senate Commerce Committee. This means he is in charge of regulating things like your phone, or say, the internet. He does not, in fact, know anything about the internet. This was clear a few days ago when he gave a speech about net neutrality on the Senate floor. It was so beyond us to try to explain what he was talking about with the tubes and the trucks that we decided it was best just to sweep it under the rug. It also made us sad that someone so important can't operate a simple machine like his computer. Jon Stewart, who is infinitely smarter and wittier than us, has managed to package Stevens' internet tube analogy so that the average human can somewhat understand what Stevens thinks he is talking about. To sum up: a crazy man from Alaska who can't read email is making important decisions about your life.

Also, on important days in the Senate, Mr. Stevens wears a tie with the Incredible Hulk on it.
