Unimaginable Changes

The murketing blog has thrown together a list of the biggest cultural/technological changes of the last 25 years. Sort of like our Big Ideas! list, but looking in the other direction. Rob writes:
“I was around, and relatively aware, in 1982. What are the things that have happened since then that were really, truly, before-and-after, big? The stuff that hardly anybody in 1982 could have seen coming?”
His working list includes the end of the Cold War, hip-hop, AIDS and the world wide web. A good list and a fun project. A sticky challenge, of course, is figuring out how you measure the “bigness” of these phenomena.
