vexel project... series idea feedback?

I just finished this: http://the-legendaryextreme.deviantart.com/art/Blue-World-151313312

It's a vexel portrait using Photoshop CS2.  My second, to be precise.  I am thinking about doing two more using the same stock model in that blue wig, and setting it up as a series.

My first question is: What do you think about this style of vexel?  I know a lot of people like to make them look lifelike, and I feel that I have found a nice style for myself-- a good balance of realism and digial painting influence.  If any of you do this for a living, what advice could you share with me?

My second question: Is this worth making a series out of? Or should I move on to the next project?  My brain is telling me that practicing with the same color scheme and subject could be very beneficial for my learning process.  Getting the next portrait to look similar and match this one could be a great mental workout--or I could get frustrated and give up.  If you were me, what would you do?  I often pick projects that are difficult and somewhat frustrating, mainly because in the end, I find that they are the most rewarding.

Again, any feedback would be great.  I consider myself a "beginner", merely because this is my second successful vexel and I'm not a paid professional.

...But I am perfectly willing to change that! ;)

Thanks!
