What One Conservative Believes

  • Posted by: Tboy68

I live and attend school that prides itself on being to left. After serving eight years in army in combat arms it has been some what of a shock. Although in this sea of liberalism I have seen some really positive aspects as well as some that literally scare me. I am going to attempt to put into my own words my personal views and make no claim to represent the army, conservatives, Republicans or anyone else. First off I feel the biggest problem with the left is the fact that there is no such thing as a functional far right in America. As much as they would like to say so. The far right would be a skinhead, neo-nazi, or a fascist. The left has virtually destroyed these types of groups and rightly so. Let me explain. As soon as someone admits being a affiliated with one of these they and all their beliefs are virtually void. That being said there is a viable far left that border on socialism and even communism. That not to say all liberals or Democrats hold this view, but many do support these same policies under different names. I’m sorry to me any form of redistribution of wealth is a socialist policy. That is not to say they are all bad either, but programs such as these need to be minimized rather than expanded. That is a core aspect of conservative beliefs. I believe this for a variety of reasons. Mostly morally and ethically. If you think conservatives are cruel for not caring just compare these forced contributions to the forced donations by the Medieval Catholic Church. Which from my experience many liberals tend to loath. Taking money from one person another who does nothing is and always will be stealing. I don’t care how good it feels it is theft. Making another comparison to the Catholic Church is liberals use “heresy”. This is mostly from the far left green movement but is part of the overall PC movement as well. Liberals many of which are proud of being atheist have become in a sense learned to control populations with a page straight from the “Dark Ages”. I know not all are atheist and some may even be Catholic, but here in Eugene it is rampant. It is cool to be a non-believer, unless of course they embrace a religion that is not Christian. Before I lose any readers a background on myself. I do consider myself Christian but am no bible thumper. I have never attended church and have never read the bible. I’m pretty care free when it comes to religion much like the the left wingers I’m criticizing only I don’t hate Christianity. All most level headed conservatives want is that Christians get the same respect as other religions. The main thing that bothers conservatives about liberals is hypocrisy. I know it goes both ways but we don’t control the media, hence liberals need to take the high ground. Which brings me to America’s number one controversy abortion. I have very mixed feelings about this as many people do, but what makes me lean right is the fact that here in Eugene people will fight for the right of tree to live. Literally battling police in the streets for a being made of would. But a fetus with a heart, eyes, brain, fingers, and possibly a soul is looked at as nothing more than I rock. Also this innocent gets no support from these pro-life-tree people, but they will sure again fight for the right of a murdering child rapist to live. Logic would say that makes no sense, just as it made no sense for the abortion clinic attacks. Well folks this is my first blog. I tried to briefly touch on a few provocative subjects to get things rolling with a bang. I can see some easy openings for the opposition, and hopefully some allies come to my aide. I would like to see people refrain from name calling, and attacking grammar. To me that is a cheap shot that contributes nothing but increasing already high tensions. Plus I am in the process of educating myself which means I am already at a disadvantage. I decided to start this because as a conservative many of my fellow students were tired of hearing the same side on everything. They wanted true liberal debate where all sides were present. I fully agree with that. Happy debating.
