Words Against Hunger

  • Posted by: friendofwfp

Check our Freerice.com, which began on October 7, a clever site raising both funds and awareness about global hunger. FreeRice has two goals — provide English vocabulary to everyone for free and help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free. This is made possible by the sponsors who advertise on this site.

Freerice.com is basically a vocabulary test giving you words at different levels of difficulty. For each word you get right, you help donate rice to the UN World Food Progragm. A counter keeps track of how many grains of rice you have earned to stop world hunger.

So far, the site has donated 1.7 billion grains of rice.

Check out the site at www.freerice.com.
