The Year 2012 was predicted by some in the religious community to be the year of doomsday and therefore, the year of the second coming of Christ after the Armageddon. They acquired this information and modified it through a prediction by scientists that the sun's sunspot activity is supposed to be particularly high in its every eleven year cycle in the year 2012. In 2012 the sun is expected to reach the peak of its eleven year cycle which is called the "solar maximum." It is expected to be giving off a higher than usual amount of sun spot activity. The sunspot activity is what causes the solar winds or Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) to stream out into outer space and penetrate our planet's atmosphere. The CMEs cause what's known as the Northern Lights or the Aurora Bourealis. These are very pretty colored streams of lights that flash across the sky. It is expected by scientists that, "nature in all her glory and beauty" (my words) in year 2012 will interfere with our technology and knock out the power grid. It may cause fires causing mass havoc like an Armageddon. It seems to fit in with how the economy has been doing in year 2008 and 2009 this prophecy of doom and gloom. Either the doom and gloom from the sun will happen or it won't or maybe we don't know. But I know one thing, from my perspective out of my two eyes and perceived by my intelligence and everything I've gather in my little life, it doesn't bother me. Because it sounds like it will be a beautiful show in the sky with the Aurora Borealis. The colors of these lights have been red or green or purple. From looking at the Northern Lights from pictures, it looks like a colored transparent curtain in the sky. Consider it God's gift versus what the doomsayers have to say about it and even the scientists too. However, I'm sure the scientists are doing whatever they can to avert any potential disaster.
