At a time when "dream job" sounds redundant because to some of the 2.6 million unemployed, almost any job sounds like a dream, Tourism Queensland is making an employment fantasy quite real for one lucky applicant.

Job Description: Feed fish.  Live on an Great Barrier Reef island off the coast of Australia.

Qualifications: Must love the sea, the sun, the outdoors and possess willingness to swim, snorkel, dive and sail.

Pay: $150,000 for six months.
Perks: (In case you don't already happen to live on a tropical island) Live rent-free in a three bedroom villa with plunge pool.

Too good to be true?  Ultimately, Tourism Queensland wants to drive international tourism with the new dream job campaign.  Thus the island "caretaker" job also includes blogging and occasional speaking to the press.  If playing part time spokesperson while adventuring around an Australian island interests you, apply no later than February 22.

If the prospect of leaving the mainland just as the once-islander takes office seems like leaving a company just when you've earned health, dental and stock options-thirteen companies hiring this year.
