Apple's New Solar-Powered iCloud Data Center is 100% Protected Against Everything But Clouds
The Achilles heel of Apple's new iCloud data center in North Carolina is, ironically, clouds. The new facility boasts 100 acres of sun-tracking solar panels that generate a collective and impressive 20 megawatts of power. I applaud Apple's serious investment in ironic solar power. (Next up for Apple is a hydro-powered facility in Colorado to power their upcoming iDrought platform.)
