Are we sane?

We read a lot about global issues like starvation, poverty, children abuses, killer diseases, global warming, terrorism etc. We feel the heat upto the bottom of our heart too. But in reality do we really bother as long as it does not really hit us? What do we really do or how much we contribute in real sense impartially for the sake of society, nation and world?
