Trips abroad are usually fun enough that travelers put up with the more boring parts... but do they have to?
Rather than leave the carousels empty as passengers wait to pick up their luggage, airports in Japan are sending out fun statues that travel around the tracks. The art offers a bit of relief from the monotony of waiting around and also introduces traveller to aspects of the local area, even giving them recommendations.
On a personal note: Toyama Kitokito Airport's statue!!! :)
