Benchmark Ruling in Botswana: Women to be Awarded Equal Property Rights

A case that began five years ago by three sisters in their seventies, when their nephew sought to take over the family estate after their father died, has culminated in a victory. "Most customary laws are incredibly discriminatory against women," said 79-year-old Edith Mmusi, "I'm hoping we will now see more and more cases where women take the bold step to go to court over them."
