Berkeley Redistricting to Include Students on Berkeley City Council

The redrawing of city districts will create a district that represents the student community and provide Berkeley students with a voice on Berkeley City Council. With a population of 27,000 undergraduate students alone, UC Berkeley represents more than one quarter of the city’s population. The ASUC’s Office of External Affairs is proposing a map that will undo the current gerrymandering and draw a student district for Berkeley City Council.
