Book Petrochemical America uses beautiful infographic photos to document our deadly chemical industry

There's a stretch of the Mississippi River in Louisiana that has a high concentration of petrochemical plants (producing the stuff of plastic bags, bottles, tires, pesticides, etc.). The stretch is sometimes known as "Cancer Alley," because of the unintended consequences for people, wildlife and the landscape. Photographer Richard Misrach collaborates with landscape architect Kate Orff to create the visually staggering "ecological atlas," Petrochemical America.
