When the topic of discussion is literature and someone asks me to recommend a good-read I say, "The Checklist Manifesto" by Atul Gawande.
Bigger, better, faster seems to be applicable to every career. And as Gawande points out, we are not as good at multitasking as we may think. Thus, checklists become incredibly necessary for planes to fly, surgeons to operate, and buildings to be constructed. Give it a read and see if what you learn can be applied to your life.
