Checkout bag ordinance starts October 1

San Francisco is enacting a ordinance plastic checkout bag ban to include all retail establishments (stores) and adding a charge on allowed checkout bags (certified compostable bags, recycled paper bags, or reusable bags). There will be a minimum 10c charge for all bags in the store. This has been shown to reduce bag use by 70-90%.
