Yesterday, on the first night of the 2016 Democratic National Convention, First Lady Michelle Obama stole the show with a poignant speech that spurned Donald Trump’s pessimistic view of America. The emotional high point came when Obama spoke of the unique perspective she’s gained from being part of the first black family to live in the White House. “I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves,” Obama said. “And I watch my daughters, two beautiful, intelligent black women, playing with their dogs on the White House lawn.”
Although the speech has been widely praised across the media, there are some people still in denial over America’s original sin: slavery. So last night, singer Kelly Clarkson made quick work of someone who wasn’t happy that Obama mentioned slavery in her speech.

One of Clarkson’s followers responded that he couldn’t stand Obama mentioning slavery and her response was simple and brilliant.
