Comfort Zones

Foot cramping, muscles tightening, toes curling in pain... look what I've been missing. Maybe While I'm not exactly excited about the prospect of the new found aches and pains that will be associated with practicing ballet, but I am exhilarated with the idea of doing something I've always thought about but never actually tried.

I've decided that all of the little things I "always thought about trying" are going to become the little things I have tried. I'm sure this is going to greatly increase my fate of falling flat on my face, both figuratively and literally, but the prospect of leaving behind my comfort zone and moving into the unknown is just too irresistible to pass up. So, first stop, ballet class...

Not wanting to show up to the first class totally green, I looked up some basic stretches and moves to help keep me from falling on my  leotard-clad behind.

Hmm... point toe, apply pressure, hold.. hold.. hold... This isn't too bad. Wait... waaaaait. Okay, its pretty hard.

I tried ballet when I was younger, and I remember stretching my tiny pink toes toward the opposite walls in a perfect turnout. Okay, that, I know I can do. Hmm.. more of a turn-slightly than a turn out.

Well, I guess this is why I'm in the class. In order to make sure I see this through, I'm going to track my progress in an infographic which will be available on my website after a few weeks of classes.

Lets hear it for sucking... a necessary step in the journey toward success.
