Could Equality for Women Save the World?

Population biologists Paul R. and Anne Ehrlich suggest that equal rights for women could save the planet. When women have more rights –– including access to reproductive health services, education and nutrition –– they tend to have have fewer children. The couple expects that equality for women could lower the expected population growth by 10 billion.
