Currently, more than 800,000 girls in Kenya miss six weeks of school per year because they do not have access to sanitary pads or accurate reproductive health education. With these gaps in their formal education, girls are more likely to drop out of school and repeat cycles of poverty.
ZanaAfrica is transforming girls' ability to stay in school and women's ability to go to work through the simple solution of sanitary pads and health education. Since 2007 they have served 10,000 girls with a new level of comfort and dignity. You can see their website (www.zanaafrica.org) for more of their work. With the right communications on the site they plan to secure funds to double impact to serve 10,000 girls next year.
