Creative re-use: Walmart turned into nation's largest library

What to do with an abandoned building the size of 2 1/2 football fields?
The town of McAllen, Texas was recently faced with this question when Walmart moved to a new location. Instead of pursuing another commercial use, the town hired architects to transform the building into the nation's largest public library. And so far its been wildly successful: gawker reports that first time patronage has gone up 23%.
At NLE we love stories like this - creative re-use for social good!
