United Way of Metro Dallas is looking for the next big idea to solve North Texas’ social problems by investing in young nonprofits, social entrepreneurs and startups. UWMD's GroundFloor initiative is targeting ideas and groups that wouldn’t typically qualify for their grants. Grantees will also gain mentors from the UW network. By 2020, they hope to prepare 60% of high school grads for higher education, pull 250,000 people out of poverty and improve health in North Texas.
