Day 13: Reflect The Concept of Namaste Inwards
When 03/13/2013
While I can't recall how many times I've received and returned the greeting of 'Namaste', I can clearly remember the first time that someone told me what it roughly translates too: the greatness and divinity in me, recognizes and acknowledges the greatness and divinity in you. Regardless of whether this translation is perfectly accurate, I think the concept that it embodies is beautiful. To see someone for more than what they are on the surface is something everyone could benefit from working towards. Nevertheless, I feel as though people often have an easier time seeing other people's 'divinity', if you will, before they are able to acknowledge their own. Too often is it easier to focus on the negatives than try to find that silver lining and concentrate on all of the beautiful qualities that we possess. So the next time things are rough, look in the mirror and wish yourself a genuine Namaste, because you are most certainly worth it.
