It seems simple, right? And I'm sure most of us would agree that honesty is the best policy, when done tactfully, yet so many of us still aren't always forward when necessary. It's important to point out that I'm not talking about being honest from the standpoint of not lying though; instead, I'm looking at it from the perspective of withholding information when it’s genuinely important to the situation. For some reason, beating around the bush has become too easy &, in most cases, we tell ourselves that we're doing it with the best intentions in mind. But you know that old adage, 'the truth always comes out sooner or later'? Sometimes, even though it might not be nice to start out with, time doesn't always make it that much better. Point and case, we have a tendency to want to protect people, or at the very least let them down gently, and while this is 100% okay, we need to consider the fact that although the truth might not be pretty, it’s in everyone’s best interest in the long run.
