Elite Colleges Struggle to Recuit Smart Low-Income Students (NPR)

A recent study finds many top colleges offer scholarships and other financial incentives, but they often struggle to recruit academically achieving students from low-income families. It finds that not enough students have access to counseling and information about available opportunities. Without mentors and academically talented peers many of these students fail to apply to schools that can offer them a premium education free of charge.
