EPA tightens limits on soot and predicts huge health benefits

The EPA’s tightened standard on soot pollution has been approved. According to the EPA, the other soot-related health problems that the new rules will help prevent include:
nonfatal heart attacks,
irregular heartbeat,
aggravated asthma,
decreased lung function, and
increased respiratory symptoms, such as irritation of the airways, coughing or difficulty breathing.
