Fallacy of the Creative Class? Proof is Stacking up Against Richard Florida's Theories

Oakland's fancy new condos and monthly art walks haven't done much to keep the homicide rate down and despite the much trumpeted rise of the 'creative class', unemployment remains high. Even neo urbanist Richard Florida is beginning to back away from some of his exuberance for today's gentrification. Where's the solution?
