Gingerbread Skid Row food art exhibit addresses homelessness & hunger

Dec. 12-6 p.m. show at the Craft in America Study Center kicks off a 3-part exhibit: "Food as Impetu/Subject/Medium for Craft." The follow-up series runs Nov. 17 - June 22.

Spearheaded by artist Sienna DeGovia, the Gingerbread House tradition is presented in a different context by placing it on a window display on Skid Row Street Corner. Admission is free, and non-skid-row attendees are encouraged to bring canned food (donated to a local homeless shelter).
