Girl Scouts Use Social Media, Mobile Tech to Break Cookie Sales Records

Girls Scouts are taking to social media, email, and texts to break
sales records despite a slow-growing economy. “If I had gone the way
I did when I was younger, just contacting family, it would have been
harder,” said 14-year-old Olivia Ottenfeld. “This opened me up to so
many more people that I would have never thought to try and contact.”
Cookie sales have increased from 192 million boxes in 2009 to 214
million in 2012.
