GLOBAL YOUTH SERVICE DAY is April 23-25, 2010
Organized by Youth Service America, Global Youth Service Day is the only annual campaign that celebrates and mobilizes the millions of children and youth, ages 5-25, who improve their communities every day of the year through service and service-learning.
On GYSD, young people address the world’s most critical issues --health, education, human service, human rights, the environment-- in partnership with peers, families, schools, community and faith-based organizations, businesses, and governments.
Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) is organized by Youth Service America with a consortium of international organizations, regional lead agencies, and national coordinating committees in participating countries.
GYSD is support by its USA presenting sponsor State Farm Insurance Companies; the Corporation for National and Community Service; the Walt Disney Company; and United Healthcare.

Youth Service America (YSA) improves communities by increasing the number and the diversity of young people, ages 5-25, serving in substantive roles. Founded in 1986, YSA supports a global culture of engaged youth committed to a lifetime of service, learning, leadership, and achievement. The impact of YSA’s work through service and service-learning is measured in student achievement, workplace readiness, and healthy communities.
