For starters, find a quiet place to reflect. Light a candle or oil lamp for a focal point. Open your meditation with slow easy breaths, balancing your posture for minimum tension in the body. Focus on the light and reflect on all the displays of love and compassion that you have witnessed over the past day, week, month, year and so on. Give thanks to your higher power for those expressions of love and compassion. Adopt a mindset that allows you to be the conduit that compassion passes through.
