After 2 years as a renown pop-up restaruant, Bunna Cafe is opening doors as the first vegan Ethiopian restaurant/bar/cafe in NYC and the USA. This place comes from the vision of owners Sam Saverance and Liyuw Ayalew to create something that honestly reflects Ethiopian culture yet allows for creative development through said culture. To propagate this they decided to use the cuisine and coffee, which is the calling card for Ethiopian culture to many non-Ethiopians.
Bunna Cafe is a fully-DIY venture, build on the sweat of the owners and thousands of friends and supporters it has brought in over the past two years. Now they are in the final week of their Indiegogo campaign and desperately need your help in reaching their goal of $15,000 to launch their restaurant.
