How Flowers Use Electricity to Communicate
Humans aren't the only ones using electricity. A new study in Science talks about how flowers use electric fields to communicate with bumblebees; when a bee gets close enough to a flower, it literally feels a spark, which helps it remember rewards like nectar and pollen.
